Kalonzo Musyoka says Azimio la Umoja One Kenya is preparing to renew its organisation, policy platform and public engagement ahead of the 2027 election.

In a statement published by his office on 15 September, Kalonzo welcomed Uhuru Kenyatta’s announced intention to relinquish Jubilee’s leadership. He said the party’s own institutions should manage the succession.

Kalonzo distinguished that process from the chairmanship of Azimio’s council. He said he would convene the council and National Executive Committee to consider the implications of the court judgment referred to in the statement, with the outcome to be communicated publicly.

He also said Jubilee remained part of the coalition and that Azimio would continue seeking Kenyatta’s counsel. The statement outlines Kalonzo’s position; it does not itself constitute a completed leadership election or a published replacement coalition agreement.

For members, the practical next steps are the promised joint meeting, any formal leadership notices and a clearer account of what the rebranding changes in policy and organisation.
